Religious statesman Rajan Zed has urged the usage of social media to advance inter-religious dialogue.
In a statement in Nevada (USA) today, Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, said that more dialogue was urgently needed among the different religions of the world. Social media like Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Tagged, Twitter, Bebo, Friendster, hi5, Orkut, etc., could prove fruitful in promoting this, building bridges and forge required connections if utilized properly.
Although face-to-face dialogue was still very effective, but with the advancement of communication technology, social media needed to be tapped more in the future in this direction, Rajan Zed pointed out.
Zed further said that technology could prove a wonderful connection among diverse religions spread around the globe. Tolerance, trust and openness would bring the world closer.
